Based near Banbridge in Co Down, John Dan O’Hare and his family run one of the largest and well-known agricultural contracting operations on the island of Ireland. Last year, the family decided to open their farm to the public, with the goal of raising funds for charity.

Machinery enthusiasts travelled from all over the country to the open day. It’s estimated that over three thousand people attended the event. When the family recently closed the fundraiser, they realised they had raised a grand total of £37,570.74 (over €42,000).

The family split this sum into four donations, including, £12,570.74 (over €14,000) to the Northern Ireland Lupus Research Group, £11,500 (€12,900) to the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance, £11,000 (over €12,300) to South Down Regional Fundraiser for Daisy Lodge and £2,500 (€2,800) to the Rathore Schools “Starburst Sensory Project”.

John Dan, his wife and family would like to thank all who came to the event, their neighbours and people who helped in any way, in particular their close neighbour Geraldine Farrell.
