Austrian manufacturer Lasco has appointed JMS Agri & Forestry Machinery as its distributor for the island of Ireland. Lasco builds grapples, cranes, attachments, drying and heating systems, but JMS intends on focusing on grapples, which it says complements its Farmi Forest woodchipper offering.
Lasco’s log grapples feature a box-type construction with the manufacturer saying it oversizes on stressed parts such as cylinders, deflection rods and plain bearings, as well as the use of wear-resistant and high-strength fine-grained steel. Offering nine models from 1,000mm up to 2,000mm openings, the firm says they have optimised them specifically for attachment to excavators.
They say the body of the grapple with a reinforced head plate means that not only flange rotators, but also double flange rotators can be mounted.

Its log grapples have a universal hole pattern that fits the rotator mount for all flange rotators.
A corresponding adapter is available for pin rotators. JMS Agri & Forestry Machinery is a Cavan-based agricultural contracting and tree surgery business.
