The most expensive sale recorded in our survey in Antrim was £16,500/ac for a 20ac block in the middle of the county. Almost a third of the sales recorded were over the £12,000/ac mark, with the highest prices generally seen in mid and western parts of Antrim. Prices are lower elsewhere, with sales around the £7,000/ac mark typical in northern parts of the county.
Over the past 10 years, average land prices in the Saffron County have been relatively steady. It ranges from £10,451/ac, as seen in 2010, to £8,457/ac in 2015. Last year’s average of £9,857/ac is the third-highest across the past decade.
The total volume of land publicly advertised for sale in Antrim was down by 809ac, or 22%, last year. The total number of lots offered fell from 100 to 95, meaning the average lot size last year was 31ac, compared to 34ac in 2018.
