When did you set up your business and why?
I set up my business - Siadbh - to share my experience and benefits of wearing crystals with others.
I began in 2022.
Can you explain your process?
Inspired by our ancient history, crystals and gemstones play a huge part in the culture of the world. Wearing amulets was a status of honour, respect, royalty, stature and abundance.
When you are drawn to a crystal straight away, you want to reach out and touch it: we feel there is power in wearing crystals against your skin.
Having found no jewellery that offered this aspect, we began creating it ourselves.
The first amulet was born organically from a chunk of black tourmaline, guitar string and a piece of chord.
Part of their magic is in how they feel - rough, smooth, inclusions and cracks - which are all a part of their natural creation.
Each ethically sourced crystal is designed intentionally with tactile vision in mind and to be in contact with the body. We use recycled metals and source all of our materials responsibly.
What is your best seller?
The herkimer diamond and moonstone amulets are our best sellers.
What is it about your business that brings you joy?
Being able to live my passion each day and develop my craft. Hearing the feedback from customers whose lives are enriched by their Siadbh piece.
What advice would you give to another start-up business?
Have patience, keep going, your time will come.
