Can-Am showcased its first fully electric battery-powered Outlander ATV model on both its stand and within the show’s demo area.

The new Outlander Electric is available in standard (short seat) and Max (long seat) variants, like its combustion engine counterparts. The machine is built on the same chassis as the Outlander 700 petrol model and shares much of the same componentry.

Replacing the Rotax combustion engine is Rotax’s E-Power powerpack, from BRP’s electric motorcycle and snowmobile ranges. Power output amounts to 47hp and 53lb-ft of torque and a range of up to 80km, depending on terrain.

Power is stored within a liquid-cooled, 8.9kWh lithium-ion battery system which can charge from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes using a 6.6kW Level 2 charger.

Similar to its petrol counterparts, there is selectable two- and four-wheel drive alongside a lockable rear differential and a Visco lock front diff.

Towing capacity is rated at 830kg in addition to a 55kg and 109kg front and rear rack carrying capacity.
