Alongside showing its brand-new electric Manitou MLT625e compact telehandler and updated Newag models, Manitou previewed its SafeAlert artificial intelligence assisted camera sensing system.
SafeAlert is a HD camera with an intelligent detection system capable of identifying obstacles and pedestrians.
The system uses three zones of vigilance (green, orange and red) to provide a clear indication of risk levels, aided by instant visual and audible alerts.

These different settings (zones, alerts etc) are fully configurable to adapt to the constraints of each application.
The SafeAlert solution reduces blind spots, simplifies rear navigation thanks to intuitive assistance.
Although still in the preview stage, the system is expected to include an interior and external alarm along with a flashing beacon to help alert both the driver and pedestrians.
