Maschio has updated the design and styling on its Bisonte flail mower and has also given it an additional horsepower rating, making it suitable for tractors up to 140hp.
The flail mower can be used on the front or the rear of the tractor.
The double-skinned, heavy-duty Bisonte offers a quick changeover from front to rear mounting with the new double-fixed position three-point hitch, together with two 1,000rpm PTO front and rear gearbox connections.

In addition, it has also received a styling makeover, which the Italian manufacturer says is more than just cosmetic.
To assist hitching, the double-fixed position three-point headstock replaces the swing-over top link mount.
Meanwhile, side maintenance windows on the PTO shaft make for easier maintenance.
In terms of performance, the firm say a 25% increase in rotor speed to 2000rpm on the 280 model improves the quality of the cut and an additional third hole on the back roller has been added for more precise adjustment.
The Bisonte flail mower is available in four working widths of 2.26m, 2.57m, 2.76m and 2.98m. It can also be offset hydraulically by up to 50cm from its central position.
Maschio says the new models have rotor speeds of between 1,600 and 2,000rpm meaning the machine can mulch grass, crop residues and small branches more effortlessly.

A Maschio product manager explained:“The additional hp rating makes this hardworking machine even more versatile. Even if 140hp is the maximum rated hp, the upgraded Bisonte can work with bigger tractors if it is used as part of a combination – for example with a Bisonte on the front and an offset Giraffa XXL flail at the back. This can extend the cutting width up to 5.5m in one pass.”
