The Mayo Mule and Greyface Group is celebrating 35 years of production at this weekend’s sale which take place in Ballinrobe Mart, Co Mayo.
Hoggets and ewe lambs will be offered for sale over two days for the second consecutive year with 1,000 ewe hoggets entered on Friday 23 August, while 2,000 ewe lambs will go under the hammer on Saturday 24 August. The show takes place at 9am with sales on both days commencing at 11am.
Group chair Joe Scahill says that while the year has been challenging in terms of pressure on market prices, favourable weather and good grass growing conditions is ensuring sheep on offer will be presented in prime condition. All hoggets offered are vaccinated for clostridial diseases and have received their annual booster.

Joe adds that farmers purchasing sheep and unable to transport sheep immediately after the sale can speak with the committee and organise for sheep to be held over until transport can be arranged. Queries on transport can be directed to Joe on 086-157 7154.
