The incident happened on a farm in Tassagh, Keady, Co Armagh. One appliance from each of Keady and Armagh fire stations attended the scene together with the large animal rescue team from Newcastle fire station and the specialist rescue team from Belfast’s central fire station, a spokesperson for Northern Ireland’s Fire and Rescue Service told the Irish Farmers Journal.
Thirty-three firefighters were involved in the operation, which lasted for more than three hours. They successfully rescued “two large bullocks” from the slurry pit.
