Pedigree Limousin bulls sold to a top price of 7,200gns for Gleneagle Pascal at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s autumn sale in Dungannon mart.
The top priced animal was bred by John O’Kane, Garvagh and sired by Plumtree Fantastic from Ampertaine Marjorie. This May 2019 born animal was purchased by Banbridge breeder, Jim Quail.
The O’Kane family also sold the second highest priced bull with the Sympa sired, Gleneagle Pride commanding 6,000gns. That was followed by Ballyrobin PJ, bred by Joan Gilliland, Antrim, which made 5,400gns. A total of 21 bulls sold to an average £2,871.
Females averaged £1,954 across 12 animals with the top price of 3,600gns paid for Millgate Pringles from Michael Loughran, Cookstown.
This was followed by 2,650gns for Ashmara Nigella from Neil Martin, Dromore, with Rahoney Olwyn making 2,400gns for the McFarland family, Trillick.
