In the commercial section, judges Tom York and Peter Purcell selected Chancey Lady as their Champion. Chancey, exhibited by Michael Martin, Moate, Co Westmeath and sired by Ampertaine Foreman later went on to be crowned supreme champion of the show. Reserve commercial champion was awarded to Black Betty bred by the Maxwell brothers, Elphin, Co Roscommon – a January-born heifer calf, sired by a Son of Alfie stock-bull.

The Simmental section, judged by Alan Burleigh of Northern Ireland, saw Rathlee G-man (photo below) crowned Connacht yearling bull calf, calf champion and later overall Simmental Champion.

G-man, owned by Gerry Lenehan, Easky Co Sligo is a September-born Curaheen Wakeman son. Reserve Champion was awarded to Fearna Harmony, a Curaheen Vio daughter and the earlier winner of the youngest heifer Connacht calf final and reserve calf champion.

The Limousin championship, judged by Donie McKeon, Enniscrone, Co Sligo, saw Clewbay Kerry (photo below) taking the top spot.

Kerry, owned by Padraig Golden, Westport, Co Mayo, is an October-born Huntershall Gladiator-sired heifer who later went on to win reserve supreme champion of the show. Reserve Champion Limousin was awarded to the Moran family of the Cappaduff herd, with Cappaduff Lorenzo – a January-born, Loosebeare Fantastic son.

In the Charolais section, continuing her success in recent shows, Ballinagrogy Martina (photo below) was selected as overall breed champion.

This April-born heifer, owned by Marty Merrick from Crossmolina, Co Mayo, was sired by Rancard. Reserve Champion went to Roughan Lara – a June 2015-born Roughan Galant daughter owned by Kieran Doddy, Tubbercurry, Co Sligo.

In the Belgian Blue Section, the Davis Family from Williamstown, Co Galway won both male and female calf champion with Carraneeney Kimberley, a March-born heifer calf sired by Canadian Club, and a March-born bull calf, Carraneeney Kuno, sired by Canadian Club.

The Shorthorn Championship saw the Dowd family from Creggs Co Roscommon secure both champion and reserve. Champion Shorthorn went to Creaga Heidi, a four-year-old cow sired by Creaga Flash, and reserve to Creaga Mika, a February-born calf sired by Creaga Kenzo.
