Taking place over the weekend was the online bull sale from HW Netherton Angus in Perthshire, Scotland.
Cataloged for the online timed auction, which closed on Saturday 7 February, were 30 top-quality young bulls from the heart of the renowned Scottish herd.
Demand was electric, as auctioneers Harrison and Hetherington reported a full clearance and a sale average of £9,555 (€10,968), with nine bulls selling for five-figure sums.
AI companies, pedigree breeders and commercial enterprises all purchased, with a top price of 38,000gns (€45,803) paid for HW Manhattan A040.
Mr Equilibrium
Descending from the May cow family, HW Manhattan A040 is a son of the herd's stock bull and AI sire HW Mr Equilibrium W202, while his dam is a daughter of HW Abacus V500.
Offering buyers pedigree, performance and phenomenal shape, Manhattan was hotly sought after by both commercial and pedigree breeders.
Above-breed average on calving and in the top 30% of the breed for 13 traits within the Angus breed, Fordel Angus outside Perth made no mistake in securing the 22-month-old bull for its large pedigree operation.

Up next at 13,000gns (€15,669) was HW Red Edinburgh A068, which set a new record price for a red Angus in the UK.
A son of HW Red Louisiana X270 and out of the HW Red Dabadoo daughter HW Evergreen V757, this May 2024-born bull carries a calving figure of +3.9 along with a self-replacing index of +59. He will now join Cogent's AI company based out of Cheshire, England.
Brissac Hampton
Two bulls closely followed each other at 12,600gns (€15,187).
HW Black Bordeaux A113 ET, sired by Brissac Hampton 0030, was the first to do so, selling to Messrs Pilcher in Cornwall.
Going back to the Blackbird line at Netherton, his dam is a daughter of HW Aranguex and offered buyers some mouthwatering figures, including a calving figure of +4.6 and a self-replacing index of +69.

Also trading at 12,600gns (€15,187) was HW Mr Pittsburg A114, a 19-month-old son of HW Mr Pride Y705 and going back to SAV Madame Pride 7594 on his mother's side.
Like many of the bulls in the sale, he boasted some impressive numbers on paper and was the pick of Messrs Morrison in Aberdeenshire.
Not far behind at 11,600gns (€13,982) was another HW Mr Equilibrium son MCE Black Rumm A190.
Bred from the HW Evander daughter HW Blackbird W144, this two-year-old bull ranked in the top 20% of the breed across a number of traits and was acquired by Messrs Braid in Dumfries.
A bid of 10,600gns (€12,776) secured HW Muthill Princess A078 for Messrs Gauld in Perthshire.
Again sired by HW Mr Equilibrium and out of the HF El Tigre daughter HW Madame Pride V717, this 21-month-old bull displayed fantastic 200-, 400- and 600-day weight figures, as well as ranking in the top 20% of the breed for almost all traits.
HW Kentucky
Romping his way to 10,400gns (€12,535) was the HW Mr Equilibrium son HW Kentucky A046.
Out of the HW Abacus daughter HW Kandy Y580, this 22-month-old bull was plus on calving, gestation and ranks in the top 10% of the breed for replacement.
Having the final call on him was Messrs Houston in Blairgowrie.
Also notching up 10,400gns (€12,535) was HW Kansas A112, a HW Mr Pride son out of another HW Abacus daughter. Packing a tremendous set of indexes and a calving figure of +5.7, he was snapped up by Messrs Wilson in Roxburghshire.
