A survey carried out by the Farmers Journal has shown that silage wrap prices are up £5/roll compared to 2017 prices. Prices for a 750mm film wrap that is 1,500m long are averaging around £55-£57/roll generally for smaller orders. Where farmers or contractors are getting several pallets of silage wrap they may be able to get a discount of £1/roll with some merchants. This represents a significant rise on 2017 prices which were around the £51-£52/roll.
Where larger orders are being made, such as a full artic lorry load of wrap then prices may drop below £53/roll in some instances according to merchants.
A further increase is not expected with prices predicted to remain stable for the summer, which will come as a relief to farmers burdened with increased fuel prices.
