Michael Healy-Rae hits the diff with election cover song
Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae is stepping up his election campaign with the launch of a new song, Make the Diff. The Dealer detected some inspiration from a famous farming song...
Michael Healy-Rae, hoping to Make the Diff in Kerry.
Make the Diff is the song we never knew we needed in our life. Produced by Kerry band Truly Diverse, with a video montage of Healy-Rae’s finest moments, we hear how the Kilgarvan man will get flat to the mat with his black cap.
The lyrics also note that there will be no time for tea during the hectic general election campaign. He’s twice as busy this time around, as two constituencies have merged as one in Kerry, forcing him to venture away from the Gap of Dunloe to the unchartered environs in the north of the county.
The Dealer could not help but notice that the melody is very similar to Marty Mone’s hugely popular Hit the Diff, which has racked up almost three million views on YouTube. He is yet to comment on Healy-Rae’s version.
Healy-Rae threatened that “there might be more to come in the coming weeks”.
