2013 was the year where the Farmers Journal created our own Youtube channel, FarmersJournal.tv, featuring videos shot and edited by our team.

The channel now has over 150 videos, 360,000 views and almost 1,200 subscribers.

1. Zero-grazing system at the Harpur farm in Bessbrook (128,463 views)

This is Jack Kennedy’s video of the zero-grazing system at the Harpur family's dairy farm in Bessbrook which was the venue for the Ulster Grassland Society's Spring Visit last May.

2. John Deere F440 balers (15,728 views)

This is Michael Moroney’s video from last August of the John Deere F440 baler in action.

3. Massey Ferguson 5610 tractor test (15,339 views)

Another machinery video from August…this time Michael Moroney was putting a Massey Ferguson 5610 through it’s paces.

4. Almarai Al Badiah farm in Saudi Arabia (12,631 views)

This video is from November when news editor Pat O’Keeffe visited the Almarai Al Badiah farm in Saudi Arabia which has 22,500 milking cows.

5. Review of the Krone Big X 1100 (12,364 views)

Michael Moroney reviewed the Krone Big X 1100 which is the highest power silage harvester to work on Irish land.

6. Silage wagons- four of the best put to the test (8,767 views)

The video was a joint effort between the Irish Farmers Journal and the Farmers Guardian. We got four of the leading manufacturers of silage wagons together for an on-farm group test near Preston, Lancashire in July. Bruce Lett from the Journal joined with James Rickard of the Farmers's Guardian to review the wagons.

7. Dairy cows arrive at the National Ploughing Championships (7,467 views)

This video was shot by our online journalist Maura Fay of 40 cows arriving at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska in Laois in September for the Lely Robotic Milking demonstration.

John Kennedy from Lissyneamy, Ballyphilip, Nenagh has developed a silage trailer which moves away from the tipping concept and is based on the push principle for emptying.

10. Day 1 on the National Ploughing Championships (6,342 views)

This time lapse video shows 7.00am to 7.00pm of day one of the National Ploughing Championships at Ratheniska, Co Laois of traffic outside the Farmers Journal stand.
