Ivan Moffitt, director, Manorhamilton Livestock Sales Ltd

DEAR SIR: I am writing regarding an article in last week’s Irish Farmers Journal. In the said article, Paul Mooney wrote about Manorhamilton Livestock Sales Ltd.

While I am not addressing the subject of the article, it has been relayed to me over the past few days that it contained underlying allegations against the office staff of Manorhamilton Livestock Sales Ltd.

With this in mind, I wish to publicly state that at no time were there any wrongdoings in our office regarding our staff and that no such allegations were intended.

We have an office team that any mart would be proud to have, as we are at Manorhamilton Mart. Our office staff are reliable, loyal, meticulous, hardworking and, above all, honest.

One of our office members is shortly retiring after 40 years of service and dedication, and I would like to take this opportunity to publicly wish her a long and healthy retirement and thank her for an excellent service over the years.

I hope this offers more clarity on the issue. I again wish to state that at no time was it intended to upset anyone connected to or otherwise associated with the mart, and if it caused offence to any individual, for that I apologise.
