While there has been no formal announcement on the takeover, it looks pretty certain that James Mallon has finalised a deal to purchase Carnaross Mart. Mallon has been a visible presence at recent sales, getting his boots dirty to give a hand moving stock – a familiar role to him through his live export company, Viastar Ltd.

Speculation is mounting that the company has secured a contract for exporting heifers live to Turkey so it could be a busy back-end for the Meathman with throughput for autumn sales on the up.
