Caitríona Morrissey has been appointed news editor of the Irish Farmers Journal. From a dairy and tillage farm in Ardfinnan, Co Tipperary, Caitríona has a B.Agr.Sc from UCD and is a former winner of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists “The Bull” award.

Amy Forde has been appointed deputy news editor. From Annaghdown, Co Galway, she holds an MA in Journalism and Media Communications.

Also in the new year, Stephen Connolly, a native of Coolderry, Co Offaly, joins the livestock team to help farmers make their farms more profitable.

Irish Farmers Journal editor Justin McCarthy said: “We are delighted that Caitríona and Amy will be heading up our news team and ensuring that our news coverage in both print and digital is unrivalled.

“Meanwhile, the appointment of Stephen to our specialist team is aligned to the rollout to an enhanced range of services we plan to bring our readers in 2019.”
