This year’s Aurivo Northwest Kings and Queens event will take place on Saturday 21 January at the Radisson Blue Hotel and Spa, Sligo. Aurivo Co-operative Society is delighted to support and sponsor this year’s event once again.

An Aurivo spokesperson said: “Aurivo is delighted to sponsor the Northwest Macra Kings and Queens event.

“The Macra community is very much part of our community at Aurivo, whether they are visiting our 34 Homeland stores and shopping on Homeland.ie, buying and selling in our marts, choosing our Nutrias feed for their animals, being loyal consumers of our Connacht Gold and Donegal Creameries brands, or supplying milk to Aurivo, which in turn provides top-quality milk and butter for communities across the country and indeed the world.” The event is supported by Macra members, the event’s contestants and the Northwest Kings and Queens committee.

The event comprises 18 county representatives, two from every county across the northwest region, who will battle it out to be this year’s Northwest King and Queen.

During the day, contestants will take part in various activities which will then be followed by on-stage interviews during the banquet meal.

After the banquet, there will be live music from the Waxies, which will be followed by DJ Dave Duke until late.

This event will kick off the Macra festivals for 2023 and it is one that is not to be missed.

On behalf of the events committee, Luna Orofiamma, Macra’s Northwest vice-president, said: “As a committee, we are delighted to have Aurivo on board as our main sponsor for our 2023 Northwest Kings and Queens.

“It is a great event, both regionally and nationally, and here in the northwest we are delighted to see contestants from all of our nine counties in our region, representing their local clubs and counties. We are really looking forward to welcoming our members to our event in the Radisson Blu, Sligo, this year.”
