The new HIT 16.18 T tedder has a working width of 17m.

The new flagship trailed grassland tedder has been developed in response to shorter working windows and increasing demands in forage quality the firm say. The new high-output 16-rotor machine has a total working width of 17m.
Each of the 16 rotors continue to use Pöttinger's Dynatech rotors. Each rotor has a diameter of 1.42m with six swept tine arms. Each tine is offset for optimum grass pick up.
The two large chassis wheels act as large jockey wheels which guide the tedder over varying ground conditions.

The tedders chassis is fitted with two large wheels which are positioned closely to the leading arc of the tines, acting as oversized jockey wheels for the rotors. Each element in the frame adapts independently to the grounds contours and undulations. This set up provides the tedder with ideal ground following abilities Pöttinger says.
The HIT 16.18T features what Pöttinger claim to be a unique lift system. The Liftmatic Plus raises the rotors into headland position via double acting hydraulic cylinder. Rotors move horizontally before being lifted. This is so that tines don’t scrape or penetrate the ground and contaminate the forage. The lift system improves ground clearance leaving the tedder more manoeuvrable in the field.
When tedding along a boundary the two rotors on the outer right hand side can be folded backwards hydraulically by 15 degrees. The two diagonal rotors then distribute forage over the mown area evenly. This prevents forage from being thrown too closely to the hedge or boundary. Rotors can be adjusted hydraulically from the operator’s seat.
