Farmers in north Cork have a choice of two farms that are currently for sale close to Doneraile – an 113-acre residential holding at Caherduggan and an 80-acre residential unit just three miles away at Skehanagh.
For sale by private treaty through selling agent Christy Buckley, Ballinhassig, both farms are executors’ sales and already have started to command a healthy level of local interest.
113-acre holding
at Caherduggan
The 113-acre holding at Caherduggan is just off the main Mallow/Doneraile road and has been rented out for the past number of years.
Used for grazing and for silage harvesting, the farm is set out in one long 113-acre block and is laid out in no less than 16 tidy, well-sheltered fields. Gently sloping, the land is described as “good grazing ground” and water is supplied from a private well.
Approached from a long farm roadway that gives access to much of its own land, the residence is a three-bedroom bungalow in need of refurbishment. Behind the house are a number of four and five-bay round roof sheds with lean-tos that are currently being used to store baled silage.
With frontage to a county road, the farm is being offered in one lot only and is guided in the region of €10,000/acre. Just five miles from Mallow and 2.5 miles from Doneraile, the property has already started to command active interest from local farmers.
80 acres at Skehanagh
Just three miles away is the 80-acre non-residential unit located at Skehanagh, Doneraile. Laid out in just three big fields, this farm has been used for grazing and silage over the years and comes to the market with a round roof shed with two adjoining lean-tos. With frontage to a county road, the land is reported to be good quality grazing ground and is fenced for drystock.
Although relatively new to the market, it’s understood this farm has attracted three serious local bidders and is currently under offer. It is also guided in the region of €10,000/acre.
