A significant area in the form of almost 300ac of land has recently been put up for lease where counties Mayo and Roscommon meet. The land listed with Ballyhaunis-based APP Kirrane Auctioneering is in two principal blocks with the rest broken down into smaller holdings, and they are to be let in one or more lots depending on what the market dictates.

The largest of the three holdings extends to 153ac at Moigh Upper, Cloonfad, Co Roscommon with a further 90.6ac available at Greenwood, Ballyhaunis.

There is a further 55.7ac at Killylea, Ballyhaunis, across from the GAA Centre of Excellence. This is the first time the land has come up for leasing with entitlements attached to it.

Auctioneer, Kevin Kirrane said: “Over 300ac of land in the Mayo-Roscommon area for lease is rare, and it is land that was very well maintained over the years. It’s all fenced for sheep as well. It’s available for a one-year lease with a view to extending to a longer-term lease. We’re guiding it around €250/ac.”
