Base quotes remain at a range of €7.60/kg to €7.70/kg for quality assured hoggets.
Groups and regular sellers are trading in the region of €7.80/kg, with groups on a higher payment programme and sellers handling large numbers and trading at the top end of the market paid €7.85/kg to €7.90/kg.
There are very few reports of higher prices, with the exception of factory agents.
Reports indicate that factories have handled higher numbers in recent days, but have been able to source these without having to increase prices paid.
Agents in cases paid €1 to €2 more per head for hoggets over the last week, but, by and large, there has been no major change in the live trade either.
The ewe trade is unchanged both in terms of live and deadweight prices.
The majority of well-fleshed ewes in mart sales are trading from €2/kg to €2.20/kg, with certain lots hitting €2.30/kg, but in small numbers.
Factory quotes are €4.30/kg to €4.40/kg in the main, with plants specialising in the ewe trade paying upwards of €5/kg for choice lots.
