The investment represents the latest phase in a significant multi-million-euro programme and signals a clear ambition as Inform Nutrition enters its fifth decade: to scale production, deepen its technical leadership and expand its footprint at home and internationally.
Funding will support major upgrades at the company’s Cork manufacturing campus, including advanced automation, enhanced blending systems and a new bulk out loading facility, significantly increasing output and efficiency while reducing turnaround times during peak seasonal demand.

Anthony Heavey (operations manager), Philippe Mordier (procurement manager), Martin Beirne (founder and board director), William Twomey (CEO) and Michael Slattery (commercial director).
Founded in 1986 in White’s Cross, Cork, by Martin Beirne and the late Denis Twomey, Inform Nutrition was built on a shared belief that science-led, nutrition-based solutions could transform animal health.
With more than 50 years of combined experience in animal nutrition, the founders identified a gap in the market for technically robust, performance-driven products.
In the early 1990s, the late Denis’s son William Twomey joined the business and led the development of its export programme, laying the foundation for international growth.
Four decades later, Inform Nutrition has grown from a local start-up into one of Europe’s most advanced animal premix and feed additive manufacturers, with deep technical expertise, rigorous quality assurance and continuous innovation.
The company now holds approximately 22% of the Irish premix market and operates a highly sophisticated production facility serving customers across Ireland and beyond.

The €5m CAPEX investment will increase annual production capacity from 35,000 tonnes to 60,000 tonnes – a rise of more than 70% – and supports a strategic target to grow group turnover to €100m.
Alongside infrastructure and technology upgrades, the investment includes a strong focus on workforce development, with new roles and upskilling programmes across the business.
In 2025, Inform Nutrition announced three senior appointments to support this next phase of expansion: Michael Slattery (Tipperary) as commercial director, Anthony Heavey (Cork) as operations manager and Philippe Mordier (France) as procurement manager.
This latest phase builds on a broader €7m multi-stage investment programme launched in 2023. As part of phase two, completed in 2025, Inform Nutrition invested €2m in advanced manufacturing technologies, including a new Concetti bagging machine, an automated raw-material storage system, a Promtek precision weighing system and extensive facility upgrades. A new distribution hub in Watergrasshill was also opened, further strengthening supply, continuity and service reliability for customers.

As the company celebrates its 40th anniversary, CEO William Twomey said Inform Nutrition is entering one of the most dynamic periods in its history.
“This is a landmark moment for Inform Nutrition,” said Twomey. “Reaching 40 years in business is an achievement built on trust, long-standing partnerships and the dedication of our team. But, more importantly, it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“The values that shaped Inform’s early years of integrity, innovation and a passion for animal nutrition still remain at the heart of our business today. With this investment, a strong leadership team and a clear strategic vision, we are positioning Inform Nutrition for sustained growth and continued innovation and leadership in animal health and performance.”
In addition to supplying feed mills, co-ops, and farmers throughout Ireland, Inform Nutrition supplies over 60 international markets through its sister company Mervue Laboratories and continues to strengthen its position as a market leader in premix and feed additives for cow, calves, sheep, pig, poultry, equine and pet.
