Richard and Ken Matthews farm in partnership in Killeigh, Co Offaly.

The farm is currently in the middle of lambing season and they have just delivered a group of sextuplets. Unfortunately, one of the lambs did not survive, but it's siblings are now thriving and are pictured here being fed by Christina Pizzolon, who is a first-year veterinary student in UCD.

The Matthews run their farm like a maternity ward, with all ewes and their lambs seperated into cubicles for the first couple of days. In a separate shed, there is an ICU where high-risk ewes are kept. They put their success down to ensuring that all stages of the process are of the highest standard. \ Philip Doyle and Claire-Jeanne Nash
