Dairygold will host its annual tillage conference on 9 January. The conference is now a key date in Dairygold customers’ calendars.

It will take place in Corrin Events Centre outside Fermoy, Co Cork. Trade stands will be on display from 12pm, with the conference kicking off at 2pm.

Trade stands will cover everything from seed and sprays to fertiliser and machinery.

There is a great line up of speakers on the day. The theme of the conference is “Farming for food, feed and forages” covering topics from economics and crop returns with Teagasc’s Fiona Thorne to the use of Irish grain and protein in animal feed with Dairygold feed nutritionist Colman Purcell.

Paul McGillicuddy’s presentation will be a big draw on the day. The CEO of the Malting Company of Ireland will give an overview of the malting industry at present, as well as looking ahead to possible opportunities and will give an update on the Malting Company of Ireland’s current business.

As always, the malting barley winners from each region will be rewarded and the overall winner will be announced on the day.

Competition

Anyone who takes part in a survey on the Irish Farmers Journal stand at the conference is in with a chance to win an Irish Farmers Journal online subscription, as well as a bucket of Irish Farmers Journal merchandise.

We’d like to hear how you read the paper, whether that’s in print, online or through a subscription. We’d also like to know if you listen to the Tillage Podcast and appreciate any feedback you have on our products.
