Two cattle farms have come on the market outside Strokestown in Co Roscommon. They were owned by the late John Divine, a well-known cattle farmer.

The land is now being sold by Property Partners John Earley by private treaty. This is an executor sale.

133ac at Killukin

The bigger of the two holdings is a 133.4ac residential farm at Killukin (Killucan). The location is about 5km from Strokestown on the L1421. There are entitlements to EU payments with the property. The land has frontage onto Ardakillin Lough.

The holding includes a two-storey, four-bedroom house which is in good condition but requires modernising. The house is 1,100sq ft in area.

In the yard are a number of farm buildings and a cattle crush. Killukin is a renowned cattle feeding farm, auctioneer John Earley says.

68ac at Oakfield

The second parcel of land is 67.6ac at Oakfield which is 4km from Strokestown, off the L1421. There are entitlements with this land as well.

The 67.6ac at Oakfield includes maturing forestry.

This holding includes 50ac of good quality grassland with a derelict two storey house. There are also a cattle crush and cattle pens.

The balance of 17ac is 16-year-old forestry. Four annual premium payments remain to be claimed on this forestry and entitlement to this premium is being sold with the land.
