It caught my eye that UCD Lyons Farm in Co Kildare is looking to upgrade the tractor.
The college’s research farm operates a mix of enterprises to support teaching and research in a range of areas such as beef, crops, dairy, equine, sheep and pigs.
The farm is looking for a 165- to 175-horsepower (hp) tractor and as part of the deal, it wants to trade in the existing farm tractor.

It looks like the days of the farm’s 2010 CASE iH 155 tractor are numbered.
The college has listed a range of specifications the replacement must meet.
However, a preferred brand hasn’t been listed.
I wonder if it’s a case of “if she ain’t red, leave her in the shed”, or will they be open to tractors of all colours.
