The Irish Farmers Journal hosted a live webinar on Tuesday 23 March on the recent announcement by Glanbia to limit milk supply for three months at peak.
Any milk supplied over a reference volume will be discounted in price or may even end up with the farmer getting charged for supplying the milk.
These new rules are proving very difficult for milk suppliers to understand.
Many discussion groups are meeting to discuss the impact of the new rules that have come as a bolt out of the blue for suppliers who have deals done on land leases, investment in new buildings and machinery and/or milk suppliers that have just started milking in the last two years.
