What’s happening in other parts of the world on dairy demand and supply? Speakers will give a short synopsis of the status of dairy from around the world.
We all get caught up in our own issues at a co-op, national, regional and national level, but at the same time we need to keep abreast of what is happening in other parts of the global business. These decisions keep the industry progressive and up to speed with what’s happening. The intention of the discussion is to enlighten Irish dairy farmers and the industry at large about the world outside Ireland and what is happening or not happening.
The international session will lead into the sustainability session and that will feed into the Irish panel that will bring it all back home to Irish dairy farmers. The key questions that will be discussed are;
How is the dairy industry in other countries doing and what developments should Irish farmers be aware of? What are the specifics of the various markets each of these countries are feeding into?What are the challenges farmers in these countries are facing – will Irish farmers face the same? Are they already facing these challenges?Where is the future on further developments regarding products that farmers can impact on e.g. A2 milk, organic etc? The green wave that is sweeping the dairy world – what changes can be expected for farmers? What impact will the green wave have in China, South America etc? Consumers in each country – how are they changing in terms of consumption or how they buy products? The final session on this stage will discuss training and educating the next generation of dairy farmers, what is necessary and what is actually happening. We also profile some of the new agtech products and solutions that are on the market or that are coming on the market.
