Irish food brands have once again proven to be strong performers in the Irish grocery market, according to the Checkout Top 100 Brands listings.
While global giant Coca-Cola has held on to the No. 1 spot for the 13th year in a row, the top 10 is dominated by Irish brands such as Avonmore, which came in third place, Brennans bread in fourth and Tayto in sixth. Other Irish brands performing well on this year’s list include, Dairygold in 15th position, Keelings in 26th and Glenisk in 27th. New to this year’s list is Irish protein bar brand, Fulfil, which debuts on the list at 68.
The strong performance in brands reflects that consumer confidence is on the rise despite a promotion-heavy market. It also demonstrates that consumers are willing to trade up for the brands that gain their trust.
The Checkout Top 100 Brands in association with Nielson is based on branded value sales across the Irish grocery sector and measures the sales performance of over 6,500 brands from over 200 product classes in the report.
