Clem McMahon further extended his lead in the HSI Premier Series last weekend with a win at the third leg of the competition at Blamoral on board the Irish sport horse Hilton Pacato.
McMahon and the 12-year-old gelding started the league off with a runner-up finish at the opening round at Barnadown in May, followed by victory in round two at Portmore.
Of the 38 starters, just four combinations made it into the jump-off, with McMahon taking the win with a clear second round in 47.55 seconds.
Kevin Gallagher and another Irish Sport Horse, Ballypatrick Flamenco came to Balmoral in second place on the league table and they maintained their push for league honours by finishing as runners-up with a clear in 48.90. The only other double clear came from Jason Foley and MHS Jersey Girl (ISH) in 48.90.
Brendan Murphy also made it into the jump-off with City and finished fourth with one fence down in 50.73. Junior rider Niamh McEvoy took fifth place with Templepatrick Welcome Limmerick (ISH) while the top six was completed by Francis Connors and CSF James Kann Cruz (ISH).
The fourth round of the 2021 Horse Sport Ireland Premier Series will take place at Tattersalls in Co Meath on 25 July.
