Dribble bar and umbilical slurry system manufacturer Slurryquip has ventured into the slurry tanker business with the launch of the Cerberus range. Slurryquip describe the Cerberus as one of the first purpose-built low-emission spreading slurry tankers specially developed around a dribble bar and not the dribble bar developed around the tanker.
The manufacturer says that the patent design came about in response to customers of retrofit dribble bar systems having traction and balance issues with retrofit tanker units. Its unique design has the front-mounted dribble bar fold neatly into the cutaway slots at the front of the tanker which they claim improves balance, visibility and manoeuvrability.
There are three models available, 2,250gals, 2,500gals and 2,750gals, all of which are seated on a single commercial axle shod with 800 tyres.
It is believed larger tandem-axle models will be available in 2021. Dribble bar size options range from 7.8m up to 14m, each fitted with the firm’s in-house macerator and 50mm distribution pipes.
Optional extras include a downhill spreading feature whereby the tanker automatically switches from front to rear emptying depending on its position on the hill, making sure it empties completely and consistently. A flow meter, load sensing air brakes and a spreading computer can also be specified.
