As you may be aware, Mountmellick Macra’s 50th anniversary celebrations are fast approaching. The club will celebrate its jubilee year with the following events.
Saturday 30 April: A farm walk on Rochford’s farm, Mountmellick at 11am with many distinguished guest speakers.Sunday 1 May: An ecumenical service in the club’s hall at 4pm. The service will be followed by a gala banquet that evening. Tickets for the 50th anniversary gala banquet are now on sale. The banquet is on in The Portlaoise Heritage Hotel. The reception is at 6pm, while the banquet meal is at 7pm.Vegas Nights will help guests to dance the night away. Navan Macra is hosting its annual Meath kings and queens night where it chooses representatives for all the title competitions. This promises to be a fun-filled night – you won’t be bored waiting around for your interview as there will be jiving lessons lined up to get you all up on your feet. The event takes place on Friday 18 March in Simonstown GAA club. Sign-in is from 8pm to 8.30pm, with interviews kicking off at 8.30pm and the jiving classes starting at 9pm. Waterford Macra na Feirme ag affairs committee has organised a pre-breeding season veterinary talk by Dirk Huntenburg MRCVS, a lead partner of the CCW veterinary practice in Carrick-on-Suir, on Tuesday 22 March. Topics on the night will include fertility issues, vaccinations and heat detection among others. There will be free admission and all are welcome to attend.
