The American secretary of agriculture, Sonny Perdue, is due to meet with Michael Gove, the UK minister in charge of agriculture this Friday 13 October.

Secretary Perdue is due to take part in the G-7 agriculture ministers meeting in Italy this weekend, but will make a stop in London to meet with Michael Gove before continuing on to Bergamo in Italy.

The meeting is expected to be private but it is assumed that there will be a discussion on the potential of a US-UK trade deal post-Brexit.
