The annual Harvey’s Point Burns Weekend, celebrating the life and works of Scottish poet Robert Burns, is returning on 27 and 28 of January.
The hotel’s celebration was founded by Joe McGlone 20 years ago and this year Richard Hurst, Deirdre McGlone and the team at Harvey’s Point are keeping up the celebration of Robert Burns as well as the shared bond between Donegal and Scotland.
Robert Burns wrote over 300 songs and poems which will be celebrated with music, song, poetry and oratory as well as a banquet featuring the traditional Scottish festive dish of haggis, parsnips and potatoes.
Guests are encouraged to dress in the traditional tartan of Scotland and there will be a prize for best dressed on the night. Guests are also invited to take to the floor for Scottish ceilidh dancing with the Gary Blair Band. The grand finale of the night will take place with everyone singing Burn’s famous song ‘Auld Lang Syne.’
Tickets for the Burns Supper are €69 per person and tickets for Highland concert on Friday evening are €15 per person.
