MAC Gently Off Eye & Lip Makeup Remover, RRP approx €21

Pros: This is an effective dual phase remover with a good combination of oil to water to remove the toughest of waterproof products. Soak cotton pads and leave on area for a minute and up to 90% is removed. Product and cucumber extract to soothe and rose water refresh the skin.

Cons: Product is a little difficult to open; it took me five minutes by playing around with packaging. The best way seems to be to press firmly on the lid and twist. Also can be slightly irritating on the eyes.

L‘oréal absolute eye makeup remover eye and lip, RRP approx €6

Pros: Fragrance free and very gentle, so a lot of product needed at times but leaves very little residue on the skin, which I love. Works as a makeup toner remover and smoother all in one. Again for this type of product, dampen cotton wool with product and hold over eyes for 60 secs and watch makeup dissolve. An effective buy for the price.

Cons: Dispenser can be a little clumsy so watch for this; a lot of product can be used up quite quickly! This little remover might only last two weeks.

A. Irish women love a tanned, luminous complexion mainly at the weekends, but we tend to verge towards a paler shade of pale for during the week.

We want one foundation to serve two different complexions … a big ask for even the most advanced foundations.

A better option would be to choose a foundation for light day wear and tanned weekend occasions. The colouring will suit tanned complexions better and changing foundations will add glamour to your routine.
