The board of Carbery Group has held milk price for September milk. It will pay 29.8c/l, which includes a 1c/l support from the Carbery Stability Fund, but excludes VAT.

The four co-ops that process milk under the Carbery banner in Ballineen are meeting or have met this week. Barryroe confirmed to suppliers that it was holding milk price at 29.7 c/l excluding VAT. Bandon also confirmed it had held September milk price. It is likely that Lisavaird and Drinagh will follow suit.

As reported earlier, Dairygold increased its base price for September milk by 0.5c/l, bringing it to 27.56c/l excluding VAT. The price is inclusive of a portion of the quality and sustainability bonuses, but excludes VAT. Last month Dairygold paid suppliers a base price of 27.06c/l excluding VAT.

Carbery is the fifth processor to set a price for September. Glanbia, Lakeland and Kerry all held their prices for September.
