AgTechUCD has announced the participants for this year’s accelerator programme. The intensive 12-week hybrid programme is aimed at addressing particular needs and challenges facing ag tech and agri food start-ups. In order to fast-track the participant’s business development and leadership skills, they get support and guidance.
This includes business development workshops and investor readiness training, mentoring from experts and business advisers, guest speakers and facilitated introductions to AgTechUCD’s venture capital and business angel networks.
According to Gary Ryan, director, AgTechUCD, the programme aims to develop the companies’ ag and food tech- related businesses with national and international potential.
“The focus on solutions delivering improved sustainability, efficiency and profitability in the ag food value chain is welcome and is very much in line with the overall focus of AgTechUCD.
"We will also be working with this year’s cohort, to help them to increase their profile, attract customers and investors, and forge partnerships,” says Gary.
The start-ups taking part are:
Aerial AG Ireland, Co Dublin: specialising in advanced agricultural drone services and products for farmers, offering multi-spectral imaging, precision aerial crop spraying, seeding and fertilisation.Auto Coupler, Co Kilkenny: provides equipment which allows a tractor/digger loader to attach to any agricultural implement, automatically coupling the loader’s hydraulic circuit to the implement and then locking it in place. Evogen, Co Dublin: focused on helping dairy farmers maximise profits through genetic selection. IONA Minerals, Anglesey, North Wales: distributor of natural minerals, which aims to provide solutions to help mitigate environmental pollution challenges found on the land, in waterways and in the air.
