Carbery has increased its member milk suppliers’ price for June to 30.26c/l excluding VAT at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

This is an increase of 0.5c/l on May supplies, following a 1c/l increase in the base price and a reduction of 0.5c/l from the stability fund.

Meanwhile, Dairygold has increased its member milk suppliers’ price for June to 28.64c/l excluding VAT at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

A spokesperson for Dairgold said “dairy markets have shown more positive market sentiment in recent weeks but global uncertainty and volatility prevails.

“Based on the recent improvement in market sentiment, the Dairygold Board decided to increase the June Milk Price by 1c/l and will continue to monitor the dairy market situation.”

Lakeland were first out to lift June milk price following a board meeting this week. It lifted the base milk price by 1c/l, which effectively will bring them to 28.5c/l excl VAT (30c/l incl VAT) at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat.

Glanbia met on Monday and also decided to lift milk price, bringing it to 28.55c/l excl VAT. Kerry Group also lifted June milk price by shy of 1c/l to 28.9c/l excl VAT.

The rest of the co-ops are to meet in coming days.

Ornua PPI

Last week, the Ornua purchase price index (PPI) increased for June.

It increased to 101.7 percentage points, equivalent to a milk price of 28.55c/l excl VAT.

This is a marginal increase on the May PPI and is attributable to stable returns across the Ornua product mix.
