Kin

Everyone seems to be talking about this gangland crime drama at the moment.

If you haven’t caught it on Sunday nights on RTÉ yet, the first four episodes are up on the RTÉ Player.

Kin follows the Kinsella family in Dublin, as they get into a gangland war that endangers everyone around them.

Captivating and gripping, the question on everyone’s lips at the moment - is it better than Love/Hate? You’ll have to see for yourself! They’re both on the Player.

Bachelors Walk

One of the best things about the Player has to be the nostalgia it throws up from time to time.

From Raw to Pure Mule and The Clinic, there are plenty of classic Irish dramas on there.

Principle among them though has to be Bachelors Walk. First coming on screen in 2001, the comedy follows the lives of three single men living in Dublin city centre.

Barry is looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, Raymond is a film critic and Michael is a barrister, all of whom muddle along together with hilarious consequences.

Normal People

Who could forget the Normal People-Liveline controversy of the first 2020 lockdown, something to lighten the mood on those dull days.

At this stage, whether it’s the book itself by Sally Rooney or Paul Mescal’s performance, you’ve probably heard something about Normal People.

The show itself is an excellent adaption of the novel and an eloquent telling of the love story of Connell and Marianne, who are trying to find their place in the world, having moved from small-town Sligo to Dublin for college.

Being James Bond

The latest James Bond movie, Never Say Die, has gotten a lot of people talking of late. It’s no surprise really, considering the absence of blockbuster films from the cinema during the pandemic.

Being James Bond is a documentary about Daniel Craig. Craig himself reflects on his 15-year tenure as James Bond and the documentary also includes never-before-seen footage from the Bond movies, ranging from Casino Royale to present day.

The RTÉ Player can be accessed here.
