It is nice to see the young Tyrone singer opt for some traditional country songs on her new album, being produced by Gerard Dornan.

Johnny Gimble, one of the most famous and celebrated fiddle players in American country music, has died at the age of 88. Johnny played for some years with the legendary Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. He was honoured with numerous Best Fiddle Player awards from the Academy of Country Music and featured on many records over the decades.

Florence Given from Fermanagh has been singing country songs for many years. Billy and Grace is the catchy title of her fine new single and one that should garner major airplay for her. It also features the talents of Gerard Dornan, Stephen Smyth, Charlie Arkins, Robbie Pearson and Leanne and Carrie Benn.

The debut album from Jordan Mogey from Antrim is due out in the coming weeks. It will herald the real arrival of a very special singer on the scene.
