Waterford-born poet Thomas McCarthy will host the joint launch with Clare-based poet Knute Skinner, who will also be introducing his latest collection. Madrid and Other Poems invites the reader to seek beyond place and country into the heart of modern living with its political and social upheavals. DISCOVER Nephin Mounatin in Co Mayo by testing your endurance with the Up and Over Challenge on 14 April. The course begins with a 3.5km climb from Lahardane village to the foot of Nephin mountain, an ascent from Carrowskeheen and descent by Cloughbrack, followed by a 6.5km road run back to the village. To cater for walkers or hikers who wish to climb the mountain, transport will be available to Nephin Mountain and back.
