In the absence of the many regular shows which would normally have taken place over the last few months and well into September, the Irish Shows Association (ISA) has this year launched a virtual show to take their place.

This is a first for the association, with the virtual show set to take place on Saturday 22 August. To ensure the smooth running of the event, the ISA has set the entry deadline as next Tuesday 4 August. With this deadline so close, exhibitors are asked to get their entries in as soon as possible to be in with a chance to win one of the specially commissioned rosettes on offer.

Classes

There are more than 130 classes to suit all interests. Competition categories include horses, ponies, donkeys, cattle, sheep, poultry, eggs, dogs, pets, art, baking, photography, vegetables, flowers, crafts, knitting, Lego and creative writing.

Whatever your area of interest, whether you are a seasoned show person or a novice, there is something for all. There is a special emphasis on children’s and young people’s classes across all sections.

The virtual format has some limitations of course, but it also has some great advantages. For example, cattle from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland can compete on a level playing field without restrictions or quarantines.

How to enter

Check your class on the website www.irishshows.org for the instructions on what is required for entry.

Entries consist of photos, videos or a combination of both. You prepare and stage your exhibit at home and photograph or video as required.

You can upload from your mobile phone, tablet or computer. All entries must be submitted through the ISA website.
