The event will take place on 28 and 29 of September at The Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan and is free for all.
With over 500 butchers from across the country at the event and a wide range of workshops, master classes and Q&A sessions, the expo is sure to be an informative event for all attending.
As well as the information sessions, there will also be two days of competitions, a "Profit Shop" chat show, along with almost 40 exhibitors and trade stands.
There are limited events in Ireland aimed specifically at those in the butchery trade.
The event is being organised by the Butchery Excellence Scheme to focus on the growing list of legislation affecting butchers in today’s climate.
Rhonda Montgomery, chief executive of the Butchery Excellence Scheme, said the occasion is aimed at all in the trade and will cover a variety of topics. “It became clear that there are limited events in Ireland that were aimed specifically at those in the butchery trade. We’ve created a trade expo that’s specifically tailored to butchers’ requirements that will help butchers to enhance their businesses.”
Dunbia’s involvement
Meat processor Dunbia has pledged its support to the event. Managing director Matthew Dobson says the company shares the same values as the Butchery Excellence Scheme. “There’s a great synergy with supporting Ireland’s first two-day expo specifically aimed at those within the butchery sector. We share values with the Butchery Excellence Scheme and its members across the north and south of Ireland”.
