Claas has given its Arion 400 series a makeover to mark the introduction of the Stage V emissions standard. All models are equipped with the 4.5l, four-cylinder FPT (Fiat Powertrain) engine.
The range also benefits from more hydraulic power, more lift capacity and a higher gross vehicle weight.

It has a maximum power output of 155hp. All models are equipped with the 4.5l, four-cylinder FPT (Fiat Powertrain) engine which incorporates the latest four-valve technology and turbochargers with intercooling.
Turbochargers from the Arion 430 upwards are also fitted with a wastegate.
Claas says the Stage V after-treatment system cleans the exhaust gases using a combination of SCRoF technology (Selected Catalytic Reduction on Filter) and a diesel oxidation catalytic converter (DOC).
Power shift transmission
From the Arion 430 upwards, users will have the choice of the 16x16 Quadshift or the 24x24 Hexashift power shift transmissions. Meanwhile, the Revershift clutchless reverser enables easy direction changes using the shuttle lever and optionally via the multifunction control lever on the armrest. Smart Stop is another convenient function which enables the transmission to be automatically disengaged when the brake is pressed, and is re-engaged when the brake pedal is released.

Compact
The range has two wheelbase options – the 2.49m version on the Arion 410 and 420 or the 2.53m option on the Arion 430 to 470.

Claas says its stability for front loader work is down to the vehicle’s static 50:50 weight distribution without ballast. The gross vehicle weight has been increased to 9t, permitting payloads of up to 3.8t.
As on the previous series, both the fully integrated front linkage and factory-fitted front loaders can be controlled by the multifunction control lever, with the option of also controlling the front loader by Electropilot (CIS or CIS+) or Flexpilot. Front axle suspension, mechanical two-point cab suspension and various seating options will also be available.
