A 2007 John Deere 7430 Premium showing 10,137 hours was one of the biggest tractor highlights at Hennessy Auctioneers’ final monthly auction of the year, on 13 December, selling for €36,000.
Consistent with the year’s earlier sales, the trade on the day was strong, especially for clean, well-maintained equipment. Just over 560 lots in total were put forward for the live auction, bumped up to 1,000 lots, including those in the timed online auction, which ended on Sunday at noon. Unsold lots from Saturday were entered into a timed auction which ended Monday at 10am. A total clearance rate of just over 90% was achieved, with over 1,500 bidders registered prior to the sale proceeding.
The highest-priced lot sold was a 2018 McHale Fusion 3+ baler with a bale count of 53,000 bales, which sold for €41,000 plus VAT. This was followed by a 2018 John Deere 5100R which sold for €39,000 plus VAT.
A 2008 Case IH Puma 155 with 12,613 hours, fitted with front linkage and PTO and a Quicke Q58 front-loader sold for €26,500. A 2024 John Deere 6R 155 with 1,478 hours on the clock and fitted with a John Deere 643 front loader was bid to €121,500 plus VAT and remains under negotiation.
Moving away from tractors, a 2009 Manitou MLT 523 Turbo telehandler sold for €24,000, while a 2012 Merlo P40.7 farm handler sold for €23,000 plus VAT. A 2018 CAT 305.5 digger sold at €18,800 plus VAT. A 2019 Krone TC760 twin rotor rake sold at €12,000 plus VAT and a 2014 Kverneland CLC Evo 3m grubber sold at €8,300 plus VAT.
Only lots listed as ‘plus VAT’ were subject to VAT. Commission was charged at 5% on top of the prices quoted and subject to a maximum fee of €1,000/item. Hennessy Auctioneers’ 2026 auction campaign will kick off with its first sale taking place on Saturday 24 January.
