Stocks Ag has introduced a new pressurised 1,000l steel hopper for the Turbo Jet and Maxi Jet models.
Alongside this, the Turbo Jet 8 now benefits from a hydraulic fan (HD) upgrade, aligning it with its larger sibling and meeting farmers’ demands for greater working widths and higher forward speeds.
Customers looking for a high-capacity applicator can now specify the 1,000l hopper, hydraulic fan and high-rate metering block for increased output.
The new 1,000l hopper is designed to fit straight on to the standard Turbo Jet or Maxi Jet chassis.
A key feature is the side support rails which allow farmers or OEM customers to brace the hopper to suit bespoke mounting on to different types of host machines.
To protect the metering system, the hopper includes a removable sieve that prevents foreign objects from entering the contents of the tank and ending up in the metering unit. It also has a quick-emptying tube for ease of unloading.
The hopper itself is pressurised for consistent metering rates, regardless of how much product is in the hopper.
A hydraulic fan option was added to the Turbo Jet 10 (HD) in 2025 for higher application rates at working widths from 10m up to 15m. The option has now been extended to the Turbo Jet 8 to provide working widths up to 12m on the smaller eight outlet machines.
Both can also be run at faster forward speeds and set up to apply full width or in rows, as required, with outlets either blanked-off or doubled up as necessary.
Wider widths
The standard range of Stocks Turbo Jets apply product at up to 10m. However, the appetite to work at wider working widths and with higher seed rates continues, be that with rolls, drills, cultivators or comb harrows, etc.
This has led Stocks to develop an applicator with more air flow to apply a more extensive variety of seeds or granules at a wider working width.
In conjunction with the larger hopper and hydraulic fan, a larger 59mm-diameter high-capacity feed block is also available for the full Turbo Jet and Maxi Jet range.
The new metering rollers feature six flexible vanes, which, Stocks says, when coupled with the larger diameter increases the swept volume. It says this allows accurate metering of large seeds such as peas and beans.
Controls
Two different control systems can be specified - the Jackal or the i-CON, both offering fan speed and function monitoring. IsoBus-ready machines are also available and can be connected to the tractor’s in-cab terminal as required.
A 1,000l Turbo Jet 8 Hydraulic with Jackal control, high-rate feed block and an eight-outlet spreader kit retails at €13,770 (£11,971) . When purchased as the hopper only, for retrofitting, the price is €3,889 (£3,381).
