FTMTA Auction this week
The first ever FTMTA Farm Machinery Trade Auction, in conjunction with Paul Cooke Auctions, will be held at Punchestown Event Centre near Naas on Saturday 30 September. The auction features machines, parts and accessories from FTMTA members only and is unreserved in nature, meaning that all lots have been sent to Punchestown to be sold.
Two sales rings will run at the auction, with tractors and self-propelled lots to be sold in a drive-through auction to be held in the main event centre building and other lots in a separate ring.
Many lots of all of all types of machinery including tractors, combines, self-propelled silage harvesters, tillage implements, grass implements and generators have been arriving at the Punchestown site over recent days. Viewing will be open at Punchestown on the two days prior to the auction, Thursday and Friday 28 and 29 September, as well as on the morning of the auction. Bidding will be possible onsite, online or through a pre-bid service. Sales will start at 11am on Saturday 30 September. Catering facilities will be available on site.
All lots entered, including numerous very well presented items, can be viewed at www.paulcookeauctions.com.
Cross open day

All Cross machines including ring rollers, furrow presses, flat lift, tankers and muck spreaders will be seen on demo during the day, with Cross beet washers working alongside the full range of Cross beet choppers. There are 10 varieties of beet in trial plots to be harvested. These plots will be yield tested and the best variety will be revealed on the day.
FTMTA Grass & Muck 2018
Full details of FTMTA Grass & Muck are being issued to prospective exhibitors this week. The event will return to the Gurteen College site near Birr on Thursday 17 May 2018. All exhibitors at this year’s FTMTA Farm Machinery Show and FTMTA Grass & Muck 2016 will receive details of next year’s event and any other firm which is interested in exhibiting can register their interest by contacting the FTMTA office on 045 409 309 or at admin@ftmta.ie. There is already very strong interest in exhibition and demonstration space.
FTMTA has previously announced that it will be possible to provide another 15 acres of grass working plots at next year’s event, bringing the total grass demo area to nearly 100 acres. It will also be possible to increase the size of the trade village area significantly. It is intended that exhibitors will showcase a wide range of products from many brands of tractors, farm machinery and accessories to animal care products, seeds and agro chemicals.
