The main change is under the bonnet. The engine is now 6.6-litre or 7.4-litre Sisu engine which delivers between 185hp and 255hp, with power management depending on the model.

The engines also satisfy Tier 4 final emissions standards by using adBlue technology and selective catalytic reduction

The 170hp 7718 is the smallest in the range and there are also 7720, 7722 and 7724 models before getting to the 240hp 7726. There are two transmission options available, whichever model you pick – the Dyna-6 with four ranges and six power-shifts, and the stepless Dyna-VT. Other updates include the option of three more spool valves, a bigger screen in the dashboard and up-rated front suspension. Local Massey Ferguson dealer William Goodwin from EV Condells expects that the 7718 will be the most popular tractor in the range.

The lift capacity on the tractor has been up-rated to 9,600 kg, with a closed centred hydraulic system. The tractor’s hydraulic pump delivers 110 litres per minute on the 7718 model. The tractor also has a 310 litre fuel tank and capacity for 30 litres of adBlue.

The new tractor has a 2.88m wheelbase and Massey Ferguson claims that it is best in class for manoeuvrability.
